120 Years on the Frontlines of Healing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many people think leprosy is a disease of the past, but the reality is quite different. For over 12 decades, the Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital has been a sanctuary for those battling leprosy, tuberculosis, neglected tropical skin diseases, and vision loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dedication within these walls is personified by pioneers like Dr. Christine Brunhilde Margarete Schmotzer<\/strong>, who was recently honored with the Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam<\/em> by President Asif Ali Zardari for her remarkable 37 years of selfless service to leprosy patients in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why We Chose to Give<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rawalpindi Leprosy Hospital runs 97 beds<\/strong>, a specialized orthopedic shoe workshop (for patients with physical deformities), and extensive clinics on a very tight annual budget of PKR 177 million<\/strong>. They rely heavily on the kindness of donors to keep their doors open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our donation of PKR 500,000<\/strong>, issued through the Bank of Punjab, is aimed directly at supporting the hospital\u2019s day-to-day operational needs. It will help cover the unglamorous but vital running costs\u2014cleaning materials, medical consumables, and daily utility expenses\u2014that keep a hospital hygienic, safe, and functioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
