{"id":5627,"date":"2026-05-19T06:16:51","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T06:16:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/youarepakistan.com.pk\/?p=5627"},"modified":"2026-05-19T06:16:51","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T06:16:51","slug":"balochistan-universities-receive-rs2-93bn-in-hec-funding-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/youarepakistan.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/05\/19\/balochistan-universities-receive-rs2-93bn-in-hec-funding-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Balochistan universities receive Rs2.93bn in HEC funding support"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>ISLAMABAD, May 19 (<a href=\"https:\/\/abc.net.pk\/balochistan-universities-receive-rs2-93bn-in-hec-funding-support\/\">ABC<\/a>):Balochistan universities have received Rs2.93 billion in support from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in FY 2025-26, reflecting continued funding assistance for higher education institutions across the province.<\/div>\n<div>According to an official document available with Wealth Pakistan, the HEC has continued extending financial support to universities in Balochistan through recurring grants, supplementary allocations, and tenure-track funding mechanisms.<\/div>\n<div>For FY2025-26, the University of Balochistan (UoB), Quetta, received a recurring grant of Rs948.805 million. In addition, the university received Rs10 million in supplementary funding and Rs39.549 million under tenure-track support.<\/div>\n<div>Similarly, the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Quetta, received Rs698 million during FY2025-26. The institution had received Rs722 million in FY2024-25 and Rs825 million in FY2023-24.<\/div>\n<div>Other universities across the province also continued receiving HEC support. Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Quetta, received Rs282 million in FY2025-26 compared with Rs313 million in FY2024-25 and Rs293 million in FY2023-24.<\/div>\n<div>The University of Turbat received Rs173 million in FY2025-26. It had received Rs192 million in FY2024-25 and Rs202 million in FY2023-24.<\/div>\n<div>Likewise, the University of Loralai received Rs136 million during FY2025-26. It had received Rs152 million in FY2024-25 and Rs175 million in FY2023-24.<\/div>\n<div>Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences, Uthal, received Rs327 million in FY2025-26. It had received Rs342 million in FY2024-25 and Rs352 million in FY2023-24.<\/div>\n<div>Similarly, Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar, received Rs291 million in FY2025-26. It had received Rs304 million in FY2024-25 and Rs334 million in FY2023-24.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences, Quetta, continued receiving an annual allocation of Rs20 million during FY2023-24, FY2024-25 and FY2025-26.<\/div>\n<div>The document further showed that annual recurring grants constituted the largest component of funding for universities across the province.
